October 2011 Movement to Global Allies: American Empire Obstacle to Peace and Justice at Home and Abroad

June 23rd, 2011

Commits to Occupying Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., to End U.S. War and Exploitation

Today, the October 2011Movement, a fusion of peace, social justice, environmental, student, and immigrant rights organizations, published an open letter of solidarity with allies in nonviolent uprisings around the world. The coalition wrote, “We recognize that your revolution is our revolution, that American Empire prevents you from achieving self-determination and economic justice, and that only together can we achieve our shared goals.” The full open letter is below.

The October 2011Movement announced the action, "Stop The Machine: Create a New World," in a Call to Action and column History Is Knocking two weeks ago. Since that time more than 1,300 people have signed a pledge to be in Washington, D.C., beginning on October 6 to occupy Freedom Plaza “with the intention of making it our Tahrir Square, Cairo, our Madison, Wisconsin, where we will NONVIOLENTLY resist the corporate machine until our resources are invested in human needs and environmental protection instead of war and exploitation.” October 2011 intends to bring together Americans concerned with economic injustice, militarism, and environmental destruction to join in ending concentrated corporate power and taking direct control of a real participatory democracy.

I began thepeoplesvoice.org fourteen years ago because I wanted to provide people with someplace to speak out on the issues and I wanted to awaken others to the the great truths and the great injustices. I thought if enough people knew what was happening we could change it, stop it.

According to the
'Hundredth monkey effect', its only necessary to awaken a small percentage of humanity in order to cause a spontaneous awakening of all.
Only 3% of the American people participated in the American Revolution and they were able to defeat the British empire. I am not alone in this realization, there are other web sites like thepeoplesvoice.org.

I need your help to continue the site in it's present format. It takes eight to sixteen hours a day, seven days a week to properly administrate the site. The ads on the site barely offset the cost of the internet connection. I want to continue to awaken people, but my financial situation has become very difficult and I must focus more time on survival leaving less time to post Articles, News, Videos, Past News, Take Action issues, Books, and Newsletters.

Without support it will be impossible to maintain a constant flow of new and important content. This isn't a matter of choice for me, and its the reason I am asking for help. Its up to the public weather or not the site continues and grows.

With substantial financial backing I will move the site to the most advanced version of b2evolution, which would make it more secure from attack, more user friendly, and easier for everyone to post articles and pictures. I will remodel the site making it a much nicer in appearance and function. I will bring in help so that more writers and content are posted.

I am dedicated to truth and making this a better world. I believe the 'effect' can be achieved if more people join the fight. I still have strength to continue, but I can't do it alone. I am asking for your help.
